WHL Roundup: Chase scores in shootout to lift Calgary Hitmen over Saskatoon Blades

CALGARY - Greg Chase capped off a three-point night with a shootout goal to lift the Calgary Hitmen over the Saskatoon Blades 4-3 in Western Hockey League action on Thursday night.

Chase opened the scoring on the power play at 9:58 of the second period, and he assisted on the other Calgary (6-3-1) goals by Brady Brassart and Jesse Zgraggen.

Nikita Scherbak scored twice for the Blades (5-5-2) and Clayton Kirichenko rounded out the Saskatoon offence.

Alex Moodie made 40 saves in the losing effort, while his Calgary counterpart, Mack Shields, stopped 35 of 38 shots.
