The Anaheim Ducks got their season off on the wrong foot when they lost 6-1 to the Colorado Avalanche in their opener. Since then, however, they've been perfect. The Ducks bring a five-game winning streak into their game against the Phoenix Coyotes at Honda Center, one of two games on the NHL schedule Friday night.
It's the first time in franchise history the Ducks have won five of their first six games, though they're coming off a 3-2 victory against the Calgary Flames on Wednesday that required goaltender Viktor Fasth to make 33 saves.

St. Louis Blues at Winnipeg Jets -- The Blues will have to avoid a letdown after beating the archrival Chicago Blackhawks 3-2 in a shootout Thursday night at United Center. It was St. Louis' eighth consecutive one-goal victory, dating to last season, and came in their first road game of the new season. Winnipeg has lost two of three on a six-game homestand and is coming off a 3-0 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. The Jets hope forward Evander Kane, who left practice Wednesday favoring his right leg, will be able to go. He's listed as day-to-day.
Phoenix Coyotes at Anaheim Ducks -- The Coyotes, coming off a 4-3 home overtime loss to the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, hope defenseman Derek Morris will be able to play. Morris, never a big scorer, has two goals and five points in the five games he's been able to play. In the two he's missed with a lower-body injury, the Coyotes are 0-1-1, including the loss on Tuesday. Anaheim is gearing up for life on the road after this weekend. The Ducks hit the road for eight games after concluding a five-game homestand Sunday against the Dallas Stars. They are 3-0-0 so far and have outscored opponents 13-3.
