Taylor Hall broke one of Wayne Gretzky's team records when he scored twice in eight seconds for the Edmonton Oilers against the New York Islanders on Tuesday night.

Hall converted a pass from Justin Schultz at 15:52 of the first period, then fired a rebound past Evgeni Nabokov at the 16-minute mark.

Gretzky had held the franchise record for fastest two goals by one player since Dec. 18, 1981, when he scored twice in nine seconds against the St. Louis Blues.

Sheldon Souray and Ales Hemsky hold the team record for the two fastest goals by two players, which they set on November 23, 2009 when they scored twice in seven seconds against the Phoenix Coyotes. (WATCH)

Quote of the Day

Obviously a lot happened in a short period of time. At the end of the day, considering everything I went through, I really felt close to my teammates and I really feel like what we accomplished, I know we didn't win it all. ... I'm really proud of how we got there and what we did once we got there.
