Report: Rangers give Hagelin OK for contact
The New York Rangers have cleared injured forward Carl Hagelin for contact, according to a report by the New York Post.

The New York Rangers reportedly have cleared injured forward Carl Hagelin for contact. The New York Post reports that Hagelin, 25, is expected to resume practicing in full this week with a target return date of Oct. 29 against the New York Islanders.

Hagelin underwent shoulder surgery in the summer and missed the entire preseason in addition to the Rangers' first five games. Oct. 29 is the earliest he can be activated after the Rangers placed him on long-term injured reserve at the start of the regular season.

Hagelin had 10 goals and 24 points in 48 games last season, and six points in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He averaged 17:18 of ice time during the regular season and more than 18 minutes per game during the playoffs.
