Rangers place Nash on IR
The New York Rangers have placed forward Rick Nash on injured reserve due to a head injury believed to be a concussion. Nash hasn't played since Tuesday when he was elbowed in the head by Brad Stuart during a game against the San Jose Sharks.

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- The New York Rangers on Monday placed forward Rick Nash on injured reserve due to a head injury believed to be a concussion.

Nash hasn't played since Tuesday when he was elbowed in the head by Brad Stuart during a game against the San Jose Sharks.

Stuart was suspended for three games by the NHL's Department of Player Safety.

Nash was sent home from the team's road trip, missing games Thursday against the Anaheim Ducks and Saturday against the St. Louis Blues.

He also didn't practice Monday, and there is no timetable for when he could return to the lineup.

"He's still feeling some symptoms, so until I hear otherwise I don't expect him back," Rangers coach Alain Vigneault said after practice.
