Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Ben Bishop is day-to-day with a lower-body injury, and the team has recalled goaltender Kristers Gudlevskis from the Florida Everblades of the ECHL.

Bishop started Thursday against the Florida Panthers and improved to 3-0-0 with a 1.93 goals-against average and .928 save percentage. He played the entire game in a 7-2 win.

Gudlevskis, 21, was a fifth-round pick (No. 124) by the Lightning in the 2013 NHL Draft. He was attending training camp for the Everblades after playing last season in Latvia's top junior league for HC Riga. Gudlevskis recorded a 2.09 GAA and .927 save percentage in 56 games.

Quote of the Day

You don't see many. The [Drew] Doughtys, the [P.K.] Subbans, those are guys that create offense from the back and then on top of that ability, the size that he has. In the West you play against some pretty big players, and being able to clear the crease and contain the [Ryan] Getzlafs and the [Corey] Perrys and [Anze] Kopitars and players like that, we're excited about him going back there.
