Red Wings send C Cory Emmerton to Grand Rapids of AHL

DETROIT - The Detroit Red Wings have assigned centre Cory Emmerton and goaltender Petr Mrazek to the AHL's Grand Rapids Griffins, recalled centre Luke Glendening from Grand Rapids and removed goaltender Jonas Gustavsson from injured reserve.

The 25-year-old Emmerton has played in 125 games with the Red Wings since 2010, scoring 12 goals with eight assists. He played in all 48 regular-season games for Detroit in 2012-13.

Gustavsson is eligible to return when Detroit hosts the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night.

Quote of the Day

I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
