Canadiens call up Beaulieu; Pacioretty and Gionta to return to lineup

MONTREAL - Defenceman Nathan Beaulieu was called up to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, the team announced on Twitter.

Beaulieu was drafted 17th overall in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. He played six games for Montreal last season, with two assists and a plus-5 rating.

He had been assigned to the Canadiens' minor-league team in Hamilton, but the Bulldogs have yet to play a game this season.

Earlier Tuesday, Canadiens head coach Michel Therrien confirmed that Max Pacioretty and captain Brian Gionta will return to play on Wednesday against the Calgary Flames.

Pacioretty has been out with an injured wrist.

Gionta joined his teammates in Calgary on Tuesday after attending to a "family emergency."

Quote of the Day

I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
