SAN JOSE - Rick Nash did not come out for the second period of the New York Rangers' game against the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night after taking an elbow to the head early in the first period. The Rangers said he will not return.
Sharks defenseman Brad Stuart was penalized for elbowing when he hit Nash in the head 2:32 into the game. Nash played nine shifts, eight of them after the penalty, and saw 5:53 of ice time in the period, but the Rangers announced before the start of the second period that Nash would not return to the game.
Nash missed four games last season due to a concussion after a hit from Milan Lucic of the Boston Bruins
