BROSSARD, Quebec – Montreal Canadiens forward George Parros visited with his teammates Friday, and his condition has improved as he continues to recover from a concussion, according to coach Michel Therrien.
"He looks good," Therrien said Friday after Canadiens practice. "Yes, he's got a headache, but it's a little bit of a headache. It's not like it's a migraine. He has a little bit of a headache. He feels like a coach, because sometimes we wake up with Tylenols too.
"But it's nothing major. That's why I'm saying he looks good."
Parros sustained a concussion Tuesday night in the Canadiens' opener against the Toronto Maple Leafs when his chin slammed the ice during a fight with Colton Orr. Parros was carried off the ice on a stretcher and taken to a hospital for observation before being released the following day.
Therrien said he has watched the sequence repeatedly and felt no need to discuss it with Parros.
"We're more concerned about how he feels, so that's more what the conversation is geared towards, not what happened," Therrien said. "Like I said before, and I've seen it over and over and over again, like I'm sure all of you have, it was an accident first and foremost. You don't see things like that happen too often."
In Parros' absence, Therrien moved Brandon Prust over from center to Parros' right wing spot, and had Ryan White and rookie Michael Bournival rotating in at center on the fourth line. Therrien would not say whether White or Bournival would be in the lineup at home Saturday night against the Philadelphia Flyers.
