Halak to start opener for Blues vs. Predators
The Blues announced Jaroslav Halak as their opening-night goalie against the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

The St. Louis Blues announced Jaroslav Halak as their opening-night goalie against the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

Injuries limited Halak to 16 games last season, as he went 6-5-1 with a 2.14 goals-against average and .899 save percentage.

Halak had a career season in 2011-12, going 26-12-7 with a 1.97 GAA, .926 save percentage and six shutouts.

Halak is expected to share the goaltending duties again this season with Brian Elliott.
