QMJHL Roundup: Abbott has two Sea Dog power-play goals in win over Mooseheads

SAINT JOHN, N.B. - Michael Abbott tied the game 2-2 with his second power-play goal of the game, to spark a three-goal third period for Saint John on Tuesday as the Sea Dogs beat the Halifax Mooseheads 4-2 in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play.

Abbott also had an assist on Olivier LeBlanc's power-play goal, while Matthew Highmore added an empty netter for the Sea Dogs (4-2-1), who got a strong game in net from Sebastien Auger, who turned back 30 shots.

Nikolaj Ehlers and Ryan Falkenham scored for the Mooseheads (3-5-0), while goalie Zachary Fucale finished with 21 saves.

QUEBEC CITY — Georgs Golovkovs opened the scoring with his sixth goal of the season at 16:03 of the first period, and Jeremy Auger made it 2-0 just 69 seconds later, as the Drummondville Voltugeurs went on to open a 4-0 lead and defeat the Quebec Remparts 4.1

Joey Ratelle and Jerome Verrier scored Drummondville in the second period.

Jason Houde spoiled Louis-Philip Guindon's shutout bid at 7:30 of the third period.

Guindon finished with 26 saves for Drummondvile (5-2-1), while François Brassard stopped 26 shots for Quebec (1-4-2).

TIGRES 2 SAGUENEENS 1

CHICOUTIMI, Que. — Carl-Antoine Delisle scored the winner with a short-handed goal at 9:48 of the third period as the Victoriaville Tigres came from behind to edge the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 2-1.

Laurent Dauphin opened the scoring for Chicoutimi (5-2-0) with a power-play goal in the first period, and Philippe Hudon tied it in the second period while Victoriaville (5-2-0) had the man advantage.

Domenic Graham was kept busy making 41 saves for the Sagueneens, while Brandon Whitney made 23 for the Tigres.
