Lindholm's 3rd-period power-play goal helps Ducks slip past Avalanche 2-1

DENVER - Hampus Lindholm had a power-play goal at 14:04 of the third period, lifting the Anaheim Ducks to a 2-1 victory over the Colorado Avalanche in a preseason game Wednesday night.

Devante Smith-Pelly added a power-play goal for Anaheim. The Ducks were 2 for 7 with the man advantage.

John Gibson stopped 18 shots after entering the game midway through the second period.

Paul Stastny scored for Colorado. Stastny's rebound shot deflected off the stick of Mark Fistric at 13:15 of the first period.

Quote of the Day

He's only 17 but he can see the ice so well and he moves the puck and goes to the open ice all the time, so I just think he's a player that is ready to play in the NHL. I'm really looking forward to coaching someone like this.
