Defenseman Ryan Whitney has been invited to St. Louis Blues training camp as a professional tryout, the team announced Saturday.

Defenseman Ryan Whitney has been invited to St. Louis Blues training camp as a professional tryout, the team announced Saturday.

Whitney last season played 34 games for the Edmonton Oilers, with 13 points (four goals) and a minus-7 rating. He has played in 474 NHL games for the Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins and Anaheim Ducks and has 50 goals and 209 assists.

Blues defenseman Alex Pietrangelo remains unsigned as a restricted free agent.
