Jagr suggests 2013-14 will be his final NHL season
New Jersey Devils' Jaromir Jagr suggests 2013-14 will be his final NHL season.

The 2013-14 season could very well be Jaromir Jagr's NHL swan song.

Jagr posted a note on his official Facebook page Tuesday in which he said he will likely hang up the skates at the conclusion of the upcoming season.

"It looks like it will be my last season, so I can't be too risky," Jagr wrote.

Jagr, 41, signed a one-year, $2 million contract with New Jersey Devils on July 23. He has played for seven NHL teams during his career, which included a mid-career stint in the Kontinental Hockey League.

Jagr has 681 goals and 1,688 points in 1,391 regular-season appearances for Pittsburgh, Washington, New York Rangers, Philadelphia, Dallas and Boston. He won the Stanley Cup twice with the Penguins and reached the Final again last year with the Boston Bruins, who lost a six-game series to the Chicago Blackhawks. Jagr has 78 goals and 199 points and in 202 playoff games.

Entering his 20th season in the NHL, Jagr ranks 34th all-time in games played, 10th in goals, 12th in assists and eighth in points.

Quote of the Day

When we started our journey we made a commitment to our fans to be relevant and to see the Chicago Blackhawks become the best professional hockey organization. There are not two finer symbols of that than Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane. The commitment we have made to these incredible young men is equal to the commitment they have made to our team, our fans, our entire organization and the city of Chicago.
