Red Wings re-sign Nyquist to two-year contract
Detroit Red Wings, Gustav Nyquist agree to two-year deal.

The Detroit Red Wings re-signed center Gustav Nyquist to a two-year contract, the team announced Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed.

In 58 AHL games, he had 23 goals, 37 assists and a plus-10 rating. He had seven points in 10 playoff games for the Griffins, who won the Calder Cup.

In 40 NHL games, Nyquist has four goals and nine assists.

Quote of the Day

There's no discouragement in that room. There's no issues there at all to be honest with you. It's more about, 'Hey, it's opportunities for players.' And if we become that bad of a team because of one player, it's not a real good sign for our hockey club. So this is part of sports. It's part of hockey.
