Jose Theodore may soon be joining the Boston Bruins.
TVA Sports is reporting the 36-year-old goaltender is on the verge of signing a one-year contract with the Bruins worth between $800,000 and $1.1 million.
Theodore, who would serve as Tuukka Rask’s backup, spent the past two seasons with the Florida Panthers. He went 4-6-3 with a 3.29 goals-against average and .893 save percentage in 15 appearances last season.
In 648 games with Florida, Minnesota, Washington, Colorado and Montreal, Theodore is 286-254-69 with a 2.68 GAA and .909 save percentage.
Theodore's agent, Don Meehan, told The Canadian Press on Sunday there is no truth to the report.
