Rangers add Lacroix to coaching staff
The New York Rangers on Wednesday announced Daniel Lacroix has joined the team as an assistant to new coach Alain Vigneault.

The New York Rangers on Wednesday announced Daniel Lacroix has joined the team as an assistant to new coach Alain Vigneault.

Lacroix joins associate coach Scott Arniel and assistant coach Ulf Samuelsson, who were hired July 3. Lacroix had been an assistant coach with the Tampa Bay Lightning since the 2010-11 season.

Lacroix started his NHL career with the Rangers, who selected him in the second round (No. 31) of the 1987 NHL Draft. He played three seasons for the team, totaling two goals and two assists in 30 games.

Quote of the Day

For our team, as a group, we've never been this far before, and so it's just more lessons learned, and sometimes you have to go to the school of hard knocks to find out what works and what doesn't. We've got a young group. They've played some unreal hockey here to get us this far, and we showed if we're not going to play the proper way, a really, really good hockey team is going to beat you, and that's what they did. It's a lesson learned.
