Sharks re-sign forwards Kearns, Viedensky
The San Jose Sharks announced Friday the re-signing of forwards Bracken Kearns and Marek Viedensky to one-year contracts

The San Jose Sharks announced Friday they have re-signed forwards Bracken Kearns and Marek Viedensky each to a one-year contract. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Kearns, 32, played one regular-season and seven postseason games for San Jose in 2012-13. He played 66 games with the Worcester Sharks in the American Hockey League, finishing first on the team with 46 points (21 goals, 25 assists). Kearns also had team-leading totals in goals, assists and power-play goals (11).

Kearns has played in six NHL games with San Jose and the Florida Panthers, recording 10 penalty minutes. In 473 AHL games, Kearns has 266 points (110 goals, 156 assists) and 496 penalty minutes.

Viedensky, 22, has played 66 AHL games with Worcester, recording 17 points (nine goals, eight assists) and 18 penalty minutes. A seventh-round pick (No. 189) by the Sharks in the 2009 NHL Draft, he has represented Slovakia at the World Junior Championship (2010, 2009) and the U-18 World Junior Championship (2008).
