Canucks re-sign center Schroeder
The Vancouver Canucks announced Wednesday they have re-signed center Jordan Schroeder.

The Vancouver Canucks announced Wednesday they have re-signed center Jordan Schroeder. The Vancouver Sun reports it is a one-year contract worth $600,000.

Schroeder, 22, split the 2012-13 season with the Canucks and Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League. He had nine points (three goals) in 31 NHL games. He finished fourth on the Wolves in goal scoring with 12 in 42 games.

He is recovering from surgery on his shoulder labrum performed May 21.

"They told me all along I should be ready for camp," Schroeder told the Vancouver Province on Thursday.

"My physiotherapist says I'm way ahead of schedule. I'm skating again, though I haven’t been doing any shooting yet."

Schroeder has appeared in three World Junior Championships; his 27 points (20 goals) in the WJC are the most by an American (Jeremy Roenick held the record with 25).

Schroeder was selected by Vancouver with the 22nd pick in the 2009 NHL Draft.

The Canucks also have re-signed defenseman Yann Sauve.

Sauve, 23, split the 2012-13 season with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League and the Kalamazoo Wings of the ECHL. In 17 games with the Wolves, he had two assists and 10 penalty minutes.

Sauve was selected by Vancouver with the 41st pick in the 2008 NHL Draft.
