The camp, which will see Finland join the United States, Sweden and Canada for practice and exhibition games, is the first step in teams picking their squads for the 2014 WJC, which will be played Dec. 26 to Jan. 5, 2014, in Malmo, Sweden.

Teravainen, chosen by the Chicago Blackhawks with the 18th pick of the 2012 NHL Draft, had five goals and six assists in six games.

Another player from last year's team who will join Teravainen in Lake Placid is defenseman Olli Maatta. A 2012 first-round pick (No. 22) of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Maatta had three points in five games. He could be a leading candidate for the captaincy after serving as an alternate captain last year.

Defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen, who had six points, a plus-5 rating and 20 penalty minutes at last year's tournament, was removed from the roster Thursday. Ristolainen was taken by the Buffalo Sabres with the eighth pick of the 2013 NHL Draft.

Of the 24 players attending the camp, 11 have been drafted by NHL teams. The Nashville Predators will have two prospects there, goaltender Juuse Saros and defenseman Mikko Vainonen. The Tampa Bay Lightning also will have a pair of draft picks at the camp: forwards Henri Ikonen and Saku Salminen.

Thirteen of the players at the camp are eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft, including a pair of players who made NHL Central Scouting's futures list. Julius Honka, a 5-foot-10, 167-pound defenseman, had four goals and 11 assists in 42 games with JYP's team in the Finnish junior league last season, and had four points in seven games for Finland at the 2013 IIHF World Under-18 Championship.

Kasper Kapanen, a 5-11, 172-pound right wing, led Finland with five goals in seven games when the team won the bronze medal at the World U-18s. He had four goals in 13 games with KalPa in SM-liiga, Finland's top league. Kapanen's father, former NHL forward Sami Kapanen, owns the team and is a teammate.
