The Florida Panthers on Monday announced the signing of defenseman Colby Robak to a two-year contract.

The 23-year-old played in 16 games for the Panthers during the 2012-13 season, recording his first NHL point on March 5 with an assist in a 4-1 win over the Winnipeg Jets.

A second-round pick in the 2008 NHL Draft (No. 46), the 6-foot-3, 194-pound blueliner had five goals and 23 points in 63 games with the American Hockey League's San Antonio Rampage.

Quote of the Day

You don't see many. The [Drew] Doughtys, the [P.K.] Subbans, those are guys that create offense from the back and then on top of that ability, the size that he has. In the West you play against some pretty big players, and being able to clear the crease and contain the [Ryan] Getzlafs and the [Corey] Perrys and [Anze] Kopitars and players like that, we're excited about him going back there.
