Predators re-sign Spaling to one-year deal
The Nashville Predators have re-signed forward Nick Spaling to a one-year, $1.5 million contract

The Nashville Predators on Thursday announced they have re-signed forward Nick Spaling to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

Spaling, 24, was scheduled for a salary-arbitration hearing Thursday.

A second-round pick (No. 58) in the 2007 NHL Draft, Spaling recently completed his fourth season in Nashville with nine goals and 13 points in 47 games.

Spaling has 27 goals and 52 points in 226 games with the Predators.

Quote of the Day

I downplayed the first one because I thought it's just a hockey game. We just want to win the game; it's against our rival and we want the two points. I downplayed it, but now having gone through the first one I look back and say, 'Geez, that was really cool.' I think as I've grown a bit older I've got a lot more appreciation for what we're allowed to do every day.
