Carolina Hurricanes agree to 1-year, 2-way contract with F Zac Dalpe, a former 2nd-round pick

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Carolina Hurricanes agreed to a one-year deal with forward Zac Dalpe on Friday.

The deal will pay Dalpe $550,000 at the NHL level or $125,000 at the American Hockey League Level with a guarantee of $150,000.

The 23-year-old was a second-round pick of the Hurricanes in 2008. He has played 41 career NHL games with Carolina, scoring five goals and adding five assists. He played in 10 games with Carolina last season, and had 21 goals in 54 games for Charlotte in the AHL.

Quote of the Day

He is, in my opinion, one of the best defensemen in the NHL and continuing to grow. I think his game, from an offensive standpoint, he continues to drive our offense... I think there's still tremendous upside for Oliver.
