Flames sign defenseman Chris Breen
The Calgary Flames announced Wednesday that they have signed defenseman Chris Breen to a one-year, two-way contract.

The Calgary Flames announced Wednesday that they have signed defenseman Christopher Breen to a one-year, two-way contract.

Breen will earn $577,500 in the NHL and $80,000 per season while in the American Hockey League.

The 24-year-old native of Uxbridge, Ontario, played 60 games with the Flames' AHL farm team, the Abbotsford Heat, in 2012-13, scoring three goals and finishing with seven points and 55 penalty minutes. In 204 career games with Abbotsford, the 6-foot-7, 230-pound blueliner has eight goals and 26 points with 143 penalty minutes. He has yet to make his NHL debut.
