Los Angeles Kings sign Alec Martinez to two-year deal.

The Los Angeles Kings on Monday announced the team has agreed to terms on a two-year contract with restricted free agent defenseman Alec Martinez. Terms of the deal were not released.

Martinez, 25, had one goal and four assists in 27 games with the Kings last season. He also had two assists in seven Stanley Cup Playoff games.

A 2007 fourth-round draft pick by the Kings, Martinez has 12 goals and 33 points in 142 games, all with the Kings.

Quote of the Day

I was going nuts and I saw [Subban], he was going crazy, and the ref had no idea where to go. [Subban] was skating to me, and I was skating to him and the ref was right in between us and I don't know, I kind of hit him pretty hard, I thought, but those were some emotions and I'm pretty sure he understands that.
