The Los Angeles Kings announced Friday they have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with restricted free agent defenseman Jake Muzzin. TSN reports it is worth $2 million.
In 45 games with the Kings last season, Muzzin had seven goals, nine assists, 35 penalty minutes and a plus-16 rating. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound 23-year-old added three assists and six penalty minutes in 17 Stanley Cup Playoff Games.
Chosen by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the fifth round (No. 141) of the 2007 NHL Draft, he was signed by Los Angeles as an unrestricted free agent on Jan. 5, 2010. In 56 NHL games, he has seven goals and 17 points.
