The San Jose Sharks on Wednesday re-signed goaltender Alex Stalock to a one-year contract and signed defensemen Rob Davison and Alex Comrie each to a one-year deal.
Stalock played 38 games with the Worcester Sharks of the American Hockey League last season and had a 2.60 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage and two shutouts. He made two appearances in relief for San Jose, stopping 11 shots and posting a 2.60 goals against average.
The 25-year-old, San Jose's fourth-round pick (No. 112) in the 2005 NHL Draft, has a 78-53-10 record with Worcester, along with a 2.60 goals against average, .909 save percentage and seven shutouts. He is 1-0-1 in three NHL games, all in relief and all with the Sharks.
Davison, 33, played 53 games with EC Red Bull Salzburg in Austria's top league last season, scoring three goals and finishing with nine points and 54 penalty minutes. It was his second season in Austria after spending two seasons with the New Jersey Devils' AHL farm teams in Lowell and Albany.
He was the Sharks' fourth-round pick (No. 98) in 1998 and spent parts of five seasons with San Jose before being traded to the New York Islanders during the 2007-08 season. He spent 2008-09 with the Vancouver Canucks and played one NHL game with New Jersey in 2009-10. In 219 NHL games, Davison has three goals, 18 points and 321 penalty minutes.
Comrie split 2012-13 between the Reading Royals of the ECHL and Worcester. In 24 games with Worcester, he posted 15 points (three goals), a plus-2 rating and 24 penalty minutes. During 45 games with Reading, Comrie put up 33 points (17 goals), a plus-22 rating and 106 penalty minutes. His 17 goals were first among ECHL defensemen.
The 22-year-old was a third-round choice (No. 80) by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 NHL Draft.
