The Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday announced they have signed defenseman Erik Gustafsson to a one-year, one-way contract worth $1 million.
Gustafsson, 24, played 27 games for the Flyers in 2012-13, scoring three goals and adding five assists. He averaged more than 20 minutes per game.
Gustafsson played for his native Sweden in the World Championship and had a goal and an assist in 10 games for the gold-medal winners.
In 60 games over parts of three seasons with the Flyers, Gustafsson has four goals and nine assists. He was signed by the Flyers as an undrafted free agent in March 2010 after completing his collegiate career at Northern Michigan University.
