The Columbus Blue Jackets made two signings Sunday, agreeing to terms on forward Jack Skille and defenseman Frédéric St. Denis on one-year, two-way contracts.
Skille, 26, was originally drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the first round (No. 7) of the 2005 NHL Draft. He has 20 goals, 29 assists and 73 penalty minutes in 178 NHL career games with the Blackhawks and Florida Panthers. Skille went 3-9-12 with 96 hits and 11 penalty minutes in 40 games for Florida in 2012-13.
St. Denis, 27, has spent the past four seasons in the Montréal Canadiens’ organization. He had a goal and two assists in 17 games for Montreal in 2012-13 and went 7-11-18 in 63 contests for the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League.
