The Montreal Canadiens on Saturday signed free-agent forward Stefan Fournier to a three-year contract.

The Montreal Canadiens on Saturday signed free-agent forward Stefan Fournier to a three-year contract.

Fournier, 21, had 72 points (35 goals) in 66 games with the Halifax Mooseheads of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in 2012-13. He led the team with 100 penalty minutes and had a plus-17 rating.

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound player added 29 points (16 goals) in 17 playoff games, with three points for Halifax as it won the Memorial Cup.
