Vancouver Canucks sign left-winger Pascal Pelletier

VANCOUVER - The Vancouver Canucks have signed left wing Pascal Pelletier, the club announced Sunday.

The 30-year-old played in 46 games last season with Langnau of the Swiss League where he had 19 goals and 35 points with 76 penalty minutes.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound forward has played in 13 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins.

He's played in 357 career AHL games, collected 283 points and 277 penalty minutes.

Pelletier was a member of Canada's 2012 Spengler Cup winning team.

Quote of the Day

The groove of being behind a bench is going to be interesting at first, but thank God we have a few exhibition games to get rid of those cobwebs. Overall the excitement of it all and the freshness and coming back refreshed, all those things are going to be assets. If [the players] come ready to give their best effort in practice and games, good things are going to happen. I'm always looking for results. It's not always on the scoreboard. It's winning and building something.

— Bryan Trottier on making his return to coaching as an assistant with the Sabres
