ESPN.com reported Friday that the Phoenix Coyotes have re-signed forward Lauri Korpikoski to a four-year contract, with an average annual value of $2.5 million per season.

Korpikoski, 26, had six goals and five assists in 36 games with the Coyotes in 2012-13. He had been scheduled to become a restricted free agent if not signed by noon ET on Friday.

Originally selected by the New York Rangers with the 19th pick of the 2004 NHL Draft, the Coyotes acquired him in a 2009 trade in exchange for Enver Lisin.

In five seasons with the Rangers and Coyotes, Korpikoski has 53 goals and 60 assists in 336 games.
