The deal is for one season at $601,000, TSN reports. Montoya appeared in seven games for the Jets during 2012-13 as the backup to starter Ondrej Pavelec. Montoya was 3-1-0 with a 2.91 goals-against average and an .899 save percentage.
Montoya was the sixth pick in the 2004 NHL Draft. He is 24-18-10 in his career with a 2.77 GAA and a .906 save percentage.
