The Ottawa Senators on Wednesday re-signed goalie Nathan Lawson to a one-year, two-way contract.

Lawson, 29, spent the 2012-13 season with Ottawa's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, posting a 12-6-2 record with a 2.19 goals-against average and .938 save percentage in 23 games.

Prior to joining Ottawa, the 6-foot-2, 203-pound goalie spent the previous three seasons with the New York Islanders, primarily with the team's AHL affiliate, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. He made his NHL debut with the Islanders in 2010-11, going 1-4-2 in 10 games.

Quote of the Day

I think I'm lucky to be here and you definitely don't take very many things for granted, if you take anything for granted. I definitely put my family and my wife and my close family in perspective, that they're the most important thing in the world. I want to do whatever I can to play hockey, but like I said, under the right circumstances.
