Stars re-sign forwards MacDermid, Gazdic
The Dallas Stars re-signed 23-year-old forwards Lane MacDermid and Luke Gazdic to one-year contracts Tuesday. No financial terms were disclosed.

The Dallas Stars re-signed 23-year-old forwards Lane MacDermid and Luke Gazdic to one-year contracts Tuesday. No financial terms were disclosed.

MacDermid was acquired as part of the trade that sent Jaromir Jagr to the Boston Bruins. MacDermid scored his first career NHL goal with the Stars and had two goals and nine penalty minutes in six games.

Gazdic had four goals and seven assists in 59 games with the Texas Stars, Dallas' affiliate in the American Hockey League.

The Stars also declined to extend qualifying offers to goaltender Richard Bachman and defensemen Jordie Benn, who each saw time with Dallas in 2012-13, The team also opted not to make qualifying offers to centers Tom Wandell and Mathieu Tousginant, goaltender Tyler Beskorowany and defenseman Jace Coyle.
