Report: Devils agree with Zubrus, close with Elias
Report: New Jersey Devils agree with Dainius Zubrus, close with Patrik Elias.

According to multiple media reports, New Jersey Devils forward Dainius Zubrus confirmed Monday that he has agreed to terms on a new three-year contract with the club worth $9.3 million.

In addition, it's reported the Devils are close to a new deal with forward Patrik Elias, who would become an unrestricted free agent on July 5.

Zubrus, 35, has spent the past six seasons with the Devils. He had two goals and nine points in 22 games for New Jersey in 2012-13 after posting 17 goals and 44 points while playing 82 games in '11-12.

Elias, 37, has played all 1,090 of his NHL games with the Devils, who drafted him in the second round in 1994, and is the franchise leader in goals (375), assists (555) and points (930).

Quote of the Day

After being through it and seeing the other [outdoor] games on TV, just the atmosphere is spectacular. To stand here -- and we are essentially almost on the blue line -- and look up [into the stands] and knowing it is going to be packed and playing our biggest rival in this setting is going to be pretty special.
