Blue Jackets re-sign forward Artem Anisimov to 3-year contract

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed restricted free-agent forward Artem Anisimov to a three-year contract Wednesday.

The 25-year-old Anisimov, from Russia, had 11 goals and seven assists in 35 games last season after joining Columbus in the trade that sent Rick Nash to the New York Rangers. In five seasons with New York and Columbus, Anisimov has 57 goals and 69 assists in 279 games.

Quote of the Day

I definitely think going back down helped me, I had a lot of confidence down there, I played a lot of minutes and I think that helped me a lot. With the 37 games up here, that gave me experience as well. I know what it takes to play in the NHL and now it's time for me to show that I'm capable of being a full-time NHL player.
