Report: Sharks, Couture agree to five-year extension
It appears Logan Couture is going to remain with the San Jose Sharks for a while. CSN Bay Area is reporting the 24-year-old center has agreed to a new deal. No terms were disclosed.

It appears Logan Couture is going to remain with the San Jose Sharks for a while.

According to TSN's Bob McKenzie, Couture inked a new five-year extension worth $6 million per season.

Couture had 21 goals and 16 assists in 48 games during the 2012-13 season for San Jose and added five goals and six assists in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Sharks swept the Vancouver Canucks in the opening round before falling to the Los Angeles Kings in the Western Conference Semifinals in seven games.

Couture was San Jose’s first-round pick (No. 9) at the 2007 NHL Draft. He has 89 goals and 78 assists in 232 regular-season games and is 17-16-33 in 49 playoff contests.
