The Edmonton Oilers are set to introduce Dallas Eakins as their new coach on Monday, according to a report from TSN's Darren Dreger.
On Saturday, the team fired Ralph Krueger as coach after one season.
The Oilers, who haven't been to the Stanley Cup Playoffs since making it all the way to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Final as an eight seed in 2006, finished third in the Northwest Division and 12th in the Western Conference this past season with a 19-22-7 record.
Eakins, a former NHL defenseman, is currently coach of the American Hockey League's Toronto Marlies.
