Avalanche sign Bordeleau to new three-year contract
The Colorado Avalanche announced Wednesday the signing of forward Patrick Bordeleau to a new three-year contract.

The Colorado Avalanche announced Wednesday the signing of forward Patrick Bordeleau to a new three-year contract.

Bordeleau, 27, appeared in 46 of Colorado’s 48 games this season, recording two goals, five points and 70 penalty minutes. The Montreal native led the Avalanche in hits (116).

"Patrick brings toughness and size to our lineup and is well-liked in our dressing room," Avalanche executive vice president of hockey operations Joe Sakic said. "We are pleased he has committed to our team for the upcoming seasons."

Bordeleau, a fourth-round pick in the 2004 NHL Draft, debuted in the season opener at the Minnesota Wild on Jan. 19 and scored his first NHL goal on April 11 at the Los Angeles Kings. The 6-foot-6, 225-pound left wing spent the first half of the 2012-13 season with the Lake Erie Monsters (American Hockey League), where he had two goals, seven points and 91 penalty minutes in 29 games.
