The revamped Competition Committee will meet for the first time Tuesday in Toronto.
The NHL is represented by Philadelphia Flyers owner Ed Snider, Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland, Nashville Predators GM David Poile and Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman, as well as Toronto Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle.
Referee Don Van Massenhoven will also be at the table, along with members of the NHL's Hockey Operations Department.
The Union is represented by David Backes (St. Louis Blues), Cory Schneider (Vancouver Canucks), Michael Cammalleri (Calgary Flames), Ron Hainsey (Winnipeg Jets) and Alex Pietrangelo (St. Louis Blues).
Mathieu Schneider, the NHLPA’s Special Assistant to the Executive Director, will chair the meeting, the Union said.
The meeting, at the League’s offices, seeks recommendations on how the game is played, including rule changes, equipment regulations, scheduling and other items.
