Sabres re-sign Scott to one-year deal
The Buffalo Sabres have signed forward John Scott to a one-year contract extension.

The Buffalo Sabres on Monday announced the club had signed forward John Scott to a one-year contract extension. Scott could have become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

In 34 games with the Sabres last season, Scott had a minus-1 rating and 69 penalty minutes.

In five NHL seasons, the 30-year-old forward has one goal, four assists and 305 penalty minutes in 180 games with the Minnesota Wild, Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers and Sabres.

Quote of the Day

Hopefully [Jonathan] has a year that pushes us, that is the organization, to speak to him next summer and looking for [a long-term contract]. Because the thought process is trying to get a goaltender, and hopefully it's Jonathan, to be the stabilizer for this franchise.
