The San Jose Sharks were without two of their key forwards, Logan Couture and Martin Havlat, due to injury during Game 3 of their Western Conference Semifinal series against the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday.

Couture was favoring his left leg as he skated to the bench following a collision midway through the second period. He went to the dressing room after playing 7:41, then returned late in the period.

Havlat did not return to the ice with the team for the start of the second period after playing 4:52 of the first. He had missed the first two games of the series, and the final three of the first round, with a lower-body injury.

The Sharks did not disclose the injury suffered by either player but said each was evaluated.

Quote of the Day

He's a winner. We want winners here, and he's a proven winner. He's won two Stanley Cups. He's 22 years old and been a big part of it. He's got all the right tools. He's got size (6-foot-1, 204 pounds) and strength. He's exactly what we were looking for. He's going to be a big piece of our team for many, many years to come.
