Bergeron, Datsyuk and Toews nominated for Frank J. Selke Trophy

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Patrice Bergeron of the Boston Bruins, Pavel Datsyuk of the Detroit Red Wings and Jonathan Toews of the Chicago Blackhawks are the finalists for the Frank J. Selke Trophy as the NHL's best defensive forward.

Bergeron, who won the award last year, was the NHL's top face-off man this season, winning 62.1 per cent of his draws. He ranked sixth overall and led the Bruins in plus-minus with a plus-24 rating and played an average of 2:12 per game with his team short-handed.

Datsyuk, a three-time Selke winner, tied with Toews for the league lead in takeaways with 56, topped the Red Wings in plus-minus at plus-21 and posted a 55 per cent face-off winning percentage.

Toews, a Selke finalist for the second time, finished third in the NHL in plus-minus with a career-high plus-28 rating and placed second in the NHL in face-off winning percentage with 59.9 per cent.

The winner will be announced during the Stanley Cup final.

Quote of the Day

After being through it and seeing the other [outdoor] games on TV, just the atmosphere is spectacular. To stand here -- and we are essentially almost on the blue line -- and look up [into the stands] and knowing it is going to be packed and playing our biggest rival in this setting is going to be pretty special.
