You decide: Better goal vs. Islanders ... Mario Lemieux or Sidney Crosby?
Sidney Crosby has had some big shoes to fill ever since he was drafted No. 1 overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2005.  Crosby brought the city of Pittsburgh its third Stanley Cup in 2009 and has done some amazing things on the ice in the process.  But on Thursday night, he pulled off a move that seemed all-too-familiar to both the Islanders and Penguins.

 
On December 20, 1988 against the New York Islanders, Mario Lemieux broke through defensemen Rich Pilon and Jeff Norton en route to scoring at 14:09 of the third period. Bob Errey and Dan Quinn assisted on the goal in a 5-3 Penguins win.  That memorable goal was immorlatized with "Le Magnifique," a statue honoring the career and achievements of Lemieux, outside Consol Energy Center.

On Thursday night, Sidney Crosby took a pass from Jarome Iginla, picked up speed as he hit the attacking blue line and used some nifty stickhandling to stunningly split the defensive pairing of Lubomir Visnovsky and Thomas Hickey before snapping off a shot that eluded Evgeni Nabokov and found the far corner.

So who split the Islanders defense better? Mario Lemieux or Sidney Crosby? You decide!
