Mark Scheifele leads Colts past Knights 6-3; Barrie takes 2-1 lead in OHL final

BARRIE, Ont. - Mark Scheifele had two goals and three assists as the Barrie Colts beat the London Knights 6-3 in Game 3 of the Ontario Hockey League finals Monday night.

The win gives the Colts a 2-1 series lead heading into Game 4 on Wednesday night.

Scheifele, a Winnipeg Jets prospect, now leads all OHL scorers in the playoffs with 34 points in 18 games.

Zach Hall scored twice and had an assist for Barrie, while Alex Lepkowski and Andreas Athanasiou had the other goals.

Olli Maatta, Seth Griffith and Ryan Rupert replied for London, which has lost two games in a series for the first time in the 2013 playoffs.

Alex Broadhurst added a pair of assists for the Knights.

Barrie's Mathias Niederberger made 29 saves, while Anthony Stolarz turned aside 23 shots in a losing cause.

London went 2 for 7 on the power play while Barrie finished the night at 1 for 7.
