Ducks' Lydman leaves with injury
Anaheim Ducks defenseman Toni Lydman left the second period of Game 3 in the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night after a hit by Justin Abdelkader.

Anaheim Ducks defenseman Toni Lydman left the second period of Game 3 in the Western Conference Quarterfinals against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday night after a hit by Justin Abdelkader.

Lydman was helped to the dressing room. The Ducks said he was being evaluated and would not return.

Lydman was turning with the puck in the corner to the right of Anaheim goaltender Jonas Hiller when he was leveled by Abdelkader, who appeared to leave his feet on the hit. Abdelkader was assessed a five-minute major for charging and a game misconduct at 15:11.

Anaheim's Nick Bonino scored on the ensuing power play to give the Ducks a 1-0 lead.
