Bruins defenceman Andrew Ference suspended 1 game for hit on Toronto's Mikhail Grabovski

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Boston Bruins defenceman Andrew Ference was suspended for one game by the NHL on Thursday for an illegal check to Toronto forward Mikhail Grabovski's head during Game 1 of their first-round series.

No penalty was called on the hit midway through the first period in the Bruins' 4-1 victory.

Game 2 is Saturday night in Boston.

Quote of the Day

I remember the first time at Wrigley Field all of us had the long johns, the turtlenecks and the extra equipment because we were afraid of being cold. Halfway through the first period everybody's ripping everything off and we just ended up wearing what we would normally wear for a game at the United Center.
