USA Hockey on Tuesday named Bob Corkum as coach of the U.S. team that will play in the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament in August.

Corkum, the interim men's ice hockey coach at the University of Maine, previously was an assistant on the 2012 U.S. Hlinka team and coached the U.S. Under-17 team that won the 2011 Five Nations Tournament. A Maine alum, he's been coaching at his alma mater since 2008, when he was hired as an associate coach with the men's hockey program.

Prior to coaching, Corkum played 720 games for seven NHL teams in 12 seasons, and played in the Stanley Cup Final with the New Jersey Devils in 2001.
